Guggenheim Investments
Guggenheim Investments, the global asset management and investment advisory division of New York- and Chicago-based Guggenheim Partners, has appointed Brian Binder as a senior managing director and chief administrative officer.
He is based in Guggenheim’s Chicago office.
Binder has over 24 years of experience in the asset management industry. He joins Guggenheim Investments from Deutsche Asset Management, where he was a managing director, president of the Deutsche Funds and head of US product, trading and fund administration.
Manulife Investments
Manulife Investments, a division of Manulife Asset Management, has announced that Mikhail Zverev, the co-portfolio manager of the Manulife Global Equity Unconstrained Fund and the Manulife Global Equity Unconstrained Class, has decided to leave Aberdeen Standard Investments in the second quarter of 2018.
Until then, Zverev will continue to manage the portfolio with co-portfolio manager Jaime Ramos Martin to ensure a smooth transition.
After the departure of Zverev, Martin will take over as lead portfolio manager of the funds. Martin has been co-portfolio manager of the Manulife Global Equity Unconstrained Fund and the Manulife Global Equity Unconstrained Class since December 2016.
O’Shaughnessy Asset Management
Connecticut-based O’Shaughnessy Asset Management has appointed Patrick O’Shaughnessy as the firm’s chief executive. He succeeds Jim O’Shaughnessy, OSAM’s founder, who remains in his role as chairman and chief investment officer.
Patrick O’Shaughnessy, previously principal and portfolio manager at OSAM, assumes all CEO responsibilities while working in close coordination with Jim O’Shaughnessy during a transition period that is expected to be complete by the end of March 2018.
After that, father and son will continue to work side-by-side, with Patrick O’Shaughnessy reporting to Jim O’Shaughnessy. They both will remain in their portfolio management roles at OSAM.
Chris Meredith will continue as OSAM’s director of research, and Chris Loveless will continue as the firm’s president, both reporting to Patrick O’Shaughnessy.
In his role as CEO, Patrick O’Shaughnessy will oversee the day-to-day business of the firm. He will direct OSAM’s initiatives in the areas of research and portfolio management, investor education and client service and relationships.
